The deceased's death was caused by an acute attack of the grip and heart failure. Mrs. Thompson's maiden name was Maria Dawson, she being a daughter of Augustus M. Dawson, one of the pioneer merchants of Columbiana county. He conducted a store at Calcutta for many years. Mrs. Thompson was born in 1833 at Calcutta and has always lived in that vicinity. She was married to John Thompson in 1854 and six children were the fruits of their union. The surviving children are: Charles F. Thompson, of Chicago, and John and Miss Luna Thompson, of Calcutta. The many charming qualilties of the venerable lady will make her absence keenly felt by a wide circle of friends.
