History of the Upper Ohio Valley, Brant & Fuller,vol.1, 1891
Dr Norman McKenzie was married 1845, to Lydia A, daughter of Gideon and Mary
(Tritt)Gaver of Columbiana County.

Additional Comments:
In 1861 Dr Norman McKenzie served in 3rd OVI as hospital steward and discharged 
to accept commission as Lieutenant in the Civil War in the 104th Infantry as 
assist surgeon. Due to an explosion impairing his hearing he resigned in 
1863.In 1860 he served in the electoral college which elected Abraham Lincoln.
