From the "History of Hocking Valley Ohio", pub. 1883 --------- HENRY P. MOWREY, section 12, Green Township, was born in this township Feb. 5, 1853. He was reared a farmer and educated at the common schools. He has been engaged in mining the past ten years in which he has been very successful. He was married March 11, 1880, to Miss Fannie C., daughter of Jacob B. Angle, of this township. They have had two children - Noel Henry (deceased) and Nellie May. He is a member of the United Brethren church at Gore, and his wife a member of the same denomination at New Fellowship, this township. The father of our subject, Andrew J. Mowrey, was born in Belmont County, Ohio, Aug. 15, 1832, a son of Henry Mowrey (deceased), a native of Pennsylvania, who came to Ohio in an early day. He was reared a farmer and always followed that avocation. He came with his parents to Athens County in 1836, where they settled in Ames Township, on what is now the Mason farm. In 1850 he came to Hocking County where he has since resided. He was married May 2, 1852, to Jane, daughter of Warner Lehman (deceased), an early settler of this county. They are the parents of thirteen children, eleven of whom are still living, whose names are - Henry P., William H., Samuel W., Joshua, Mary L., Thomas J., Clara A., Benjamin C., Emma J., Idella J. and George A. pp. 1031-1032 ------------- Hope there's a connection there for you.
