Mr. Bechtol was born July 24th, 1824, and had he lived until the 24th of next July, would have been seventy-three years old. He united in marriage with Elizabeth Decamp, Nov. 8th, 1854. As a result of this union they became the parents of ten children, seven sons and three daughters, two of whom, together with the wife and mother, preceeded the subject of this sketch to the spirit world. Mr. Bechtol became a member of the Harmony Baptist Church in January, 1874, and had ever since remained faithful to his religious vows. His last illness was but of a short duration. He was in all respects a good citizen and worthy man and his death is a loss to the community, which greatly mourns his depature. The interment took place at Stilwell cemetery, last Saturday, after religious services conducted by Mr. Frank Cooper.
