The Democratic Standard
Daniel Callentine

Mr. Callentine, aged about 79 years, died at his home in this city, last Monday
night. His death is attributed to dropsy of the brain, said to have resulted
from sun stroke which he experienced about three years ago and from which he had
ever since been a sufferer. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon,
religious services being held at the Baptist church conducted by the pastor,
Rev. C. C. Erwin, after which burial was made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Veteran of
Mexican War.
