Vernon. Callentine, who was en route to Newark, was pronounced dead when he was taken to a Mt. Vernon hospital. He was going to Newark to visit a sister, Mrs. Arthur Nutter. Mr. Callentine was born in Newark, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Callentine. After the death of his parents he went to Newcomerstown to live with an uncle, Frank Callentine, East Canal st. He attended the Newcomerstown schools. He was married Nov. 15, 1927, to Marjorie Dorsey of Newcomerstown, who survives. He also leaves a daughter, Patty, 9, the sister Mrs. Nutter of Newark and two brothers, George Callentine of Newcomerstown Route 2 and Leo Callentine, serving with the Seabees.
