Leo Callentine, 42, Newark, former Newcomerstown resident, died early Tuesday at a veterans hospital at Cincinnati. A resident of Newcomerstown for 10 years where he was employed at the Heller Bros. Co. Mr. Callentine, was also a former member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and prior to his illness was employed at the Timken Roller Bearing Co., Newark. In 1932 he was married to Vera Chance of Newcomerstown, who survives along with one daughter, Mrs. William Winn, Westover, Mass.; one son, Daniel of the home, one brother, George, Newcomerstown Route 1; one sister, Mrs. Arthur Nutter, Newark; and one grandchild. One brother is deceased. Mr. Callentine was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at Newark. Services and burial are expected to be held at Newark. Coshocton Tribune October 19, 1954 ================= Callentine Rites Services for Leo Callentine, 42, Newark, former Newcomerstown resident, who died Tuesday at a Cincinnati veterans hospital will be held at 9 am Friday at St. Francis de Sales church at Newark and burial will be in South Lawn cemetery at Coshocton. Friends will be received at the Gutliph and Henderson funeral home, Fifth St. Newark. MM George Callentine, MM John West, MM Virgil Miller attended funeral services. Leo died following a long illness.
