June was born April 20, 1920, in Muskingum County, to the late Oliver S. and Iva M. (McVicker) Matchett. She was a graduate of Adamsville High School, and retired from General Electric Co. in Coshocton. She was a member of the Coshocton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2040 Ladies Auxiliary. June was very close to her family, and loved to fish and hunt mushrooms. On Jan. 28, 1940, June married Ernest S. Conkle, Sr., who preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1974. She is survived by her sons, Ernest S. (Kay) Conkle Jr., Roger A. (JoAnn) Conkle, both of Coshocton; daughter, Shirley A. Norris of Warsaw; five grandchildren, Stephen (Pam) Conkle, Susan Conkle, Heather (Michael) Armstrong, David (Heather) Conkle and Ashley Conkle; great-grandchildren, Tyler (Ann) Affolter, Kaden Conkle, Jordan and Brendon Bouterse, HAlley and Emma Conkle; great-greatgrandchild, Sydney Affolter; brothers, Gene Matchett and David (Lola) Matchett; sister, Maureen (Jack) Allen, all of Coshocton; brother-in-law, Jim Ames of Coshocton; sister-in-law Helen Matchett of California; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Darryl Conkle; brothers, Francis Matchett and Dale Matchett; sisters, Louise McVicker, Bernice Wagner; Opal Sarbaugh and Clarice Ames. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton, with the Rev. Charles Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
