Dyer, 85, of Coshocton, died Thursday (Dec. 16,2004) at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1919 in Cambridge, son of the late David and Florence (McMullen) Dyer. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Bill and Ida Dyer, attended Otsego high School and retired afteer 33 years from Simons Tool Co., Newcomerstown, where he served as a Union Committeeman for several years. He wasn also a coal miner, farmer and was a member of the Bakersville Presbyterian Church. Jim was married to Maxine McNurlin on Sept. 27, 1944 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 1984. He was also preceded in deth by a brother, Dick Dyer and four sisters, Audrey Morgan, Nea Hutchison, Dorothy Dyer and Elva Dyer. He leaves his second wife, Veronica John Dyer, whom he married May 1, 1992; three sons, James David (Susan) Dyer of Kent, Dennis W. (Georgette) Dyer of Ashland, Drew A. (Darlene) Dyer of Fresno; daughters, Donna J. (Victor) Schmidt of Canton, Diana J. Bevins (Russell Young) of Coshocton, two step-sons, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Bakersville Presbyterian Church Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. E. Al VanFossen officiating. Following the memorial service his cremated remains will be interred in Coshocton County Memoray Gardens. Arrangements were handled by Given-Dawon Funeral Home, Coshocton.
