Coshocton Tribune March 20, 1957 

Daniel K. Gross Funeral services were held yesterday at the Kaserman funeral
home in New Philadelphia for Daniel Kees Gross, 68, native of Newcomerstown, who
died Saturday at Union hospital in Dover.  A retired employe of the Reeves Steel
and Mfg. Co., Mr. Gross was born April 2, 1888, a son of John and Ethel Kees
Gross, and had lived in New Philadelphia 20 years.  He was a member of the
Methodist church at Wolf.  His first wife, Phoebe Young, died in 1929.  

Surviving are his second wife, Gladys Cosand; three sons, Oliver of West
Lafayette, Lynden of New Philadelphia and Eugene of Goshen; six stepdaughters,
Mrs. Ernest McCartney, Somerdale, Mrs. Robert Roney, all of New Philadelphia,
Mrs. Floyd Belden, Defiance, Miss Evelyn Meisner of the home; a stepson, Henry
Miesner, Columbus; one brother, Charles Gross, Stone Creek; two sisters, Mrs.
Hayes Bowers, Newcomerstown, and Mrs. George Cronebach, New Philadelphia; nine
grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Rev. Clarence
Higgins Jr. officiated at the services and burial was in Bethel cemetery north
of Newcomerstown.
