Nov 6, 1902 Cave-In Frank Gault Buried in Sand At Vogelmeiere's Brick Yard Tuesday Afternoon. Not Seriously Injured Frank Gault, an employee at the Vogelmier Bros' Brick yard in Franklin's addition, was seriously injured by a cave in of sand and clay late Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Gault was digging in the sand bank which was situated under a bank of clay, and when the cave in took place he was buried completely, with the exception of one hand. This fact probably saved the man's life. With the aid of his free hand he scraped the sand and clay away from his face, when he was able to call for help. Several men who were at work in the stone quarry near by came to his assistance and after digging for some time, pulled the thoroughly exhausted man out. Physicians were called and on examination it was found that although no bones were broken, his abdomen was crushed in and he was injured internally, but not necessarily seriously. He was taken to his home near the quarry and is feeling better today.
