Obituary - John R. Gay - Sept., 1943

John R. Gay, 66, Dies Sunday at Home in Nctown

	John R. Gay, 66, died Sunday at 6:15 a. m. at his home on East 
Canal st., Newcomerstown, following a six years illness.
	He was born July 25, 1877, in Guernsey co., the son of Jesse and
Elizabeth Gay. Mr. Gay and his wife, Edna Gay, moved to Newcomerstown from
Coshocton 38 years ago.
	He is survived by three sons. Robert Gay, Newcomerstown, Dean Gay, 
Ft. Hayes, Columbus, Gilbert Gay, Camp Breckenridge, Ky.; two daughters, 
Mrs. Wilma Luce, Newcomerstown Route 1, and Mrs. Violet Sweeney, New 
Philadelphia, and seven grandchildren.
	Private funeral services will be on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the
residence, with Rev. Barney ?nson officiating. Burial will be at West 
Lawn cemetery.
	Friends may call from Monday ?ing until time of services.
