The Canton Repository August 16, 1974
Lloyd R. Howell, age 77, of 3044 6th St. SW, passed away Thursday morning in
Aultman Hospital from emphysema following an extended illness.  Born in Guernsey
County, he had been a resident of Canton for thirty years.  A portion of his
life was spent in Carroll County.  A veteran of WWI, he served in the U. S.
Army.  He was retired employee of the Union Metal Co.  Was a member of St.
Paul's United Methodist Church and the American Legion of Coshocton, Ohio. 
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Gussie) Howell of the home.  Two daughters:
 Mrs. Sam (Margaret) Pipcak of Canton; and Mrs. Steve (Phyllis) Herpak of Parma.
 A son, Lloyd, Junior Howell of West Lafayette.  Two sisters:  Mrs. Russell
(Nell) Owens of Canton and Mrs. Anna Simmons of West Lafayette; 10 grandchildren
and a great-granddaughter.  Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1
p.m. in the Fairfield Cemetery at West Lafayette with Rev. Richard E. Appel
officiating.  Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home,Friday 7-9 p.m.
