The Coshocton Tribune August 23, 1943
Edward Ambrose Howell, 76, died Monday at 5 a.m. at his home on Union Ave., West
Lafayette, following four weeks illness.

He was born Feb. 9, 1867, at Flat Ridge, Guernsey county, the son of Abner and
Louise Howell.  He was married Oct. 30, 1884 to Agnes Patterson, who survives.

Other survivors are four sons, Abner and Donald Howell, West Lafayette, Lloyd
and Ray Howell of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Anna Simmons, West Lafayette and
Mrs. Nellie Owens , Canton; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  One
daughter is deceased.

Mr. Howell had been a farmer for many years before coming to work at the Moore
Enameling Co.  He retired six years ago.  He was a member of Flat Ridge
Methodist Church.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Methodist Church, West
Lafayette and Rev. S. P. Crum officiating.  Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery.

Friends may call at the home of the daughter, Mrs. S. B. Simmons after 7:30
evening.
