Howell, 72, who had been making his home with a brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Caroline Howell, 3044 Sixth St., SW, died Wednesday night at Timken Mercy Hospital. He had been a hospital patient three weeks and had been in ill health. He had been a Canton resident for 30 years. Mr. Howell was a native of Guernsey county, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Howell, and a former employee of the Cummins Storage and Moving Co. in Canton. he had been a member of the Methodist faith. his wife, Maude is deceased. Surviving are two other brothers, Abner and Donald, both of West Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Simmons, West Lafayette and Mrs. Russell (Nellie) Owens, Canton; one step-daughter, Miss Nadine Womer, Canton; and a step-son, Max Slaughter, Coshocton. One sister is deceased. Graveside rites will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fairfield Cemetery near West Lafayette. Reed Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
