Coshocton Tribune

Daniel W. Kees, 90, Newcomerstown Route 3, retired farmer, died at 12:30 pm.
Friday at the Rose Lawn nursing home in West Lafayette after a lingering
illness. He was born March 25, 1869, at Bernice, near Newcomerstown, a son of
Daniel and Melissa Murphy Kees, He was first married to Myrtle Woodard who died
in 1897, and the second time to Lydia J. Gross, who died July 25, 1950. He was a
member of the Hartwood Methodist Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Floyd
Kinsey, Newcomerstown Route 3; two sons, John and Clyde Kees, Newcomerstown
Route 3; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Two daughters, six sisters
and three brothers are deceased. Services will be held at 2 pm Monday at the
home of the daughter, Mrs. Kinsey, with Rev. Norman Nightingale and Rev. Newton
Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Hartwood cemetery.
