Coshocton Tribune September 23, 1961 

Mrs. Stanley R. Walter, 53, formerly of Port Washington and New Philadelphia,
died Thursday night in St. Thomas hospital at Akron following a lingering
illness. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Lillie Johns of Port
Washington. A resident of Akron for 20 years, she had been a file clerk for the
M. O’Neil store there. 

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Hawk of Cuyahoga Falls; five
brothers, Marvin Johns of New Jersey, Curtis of Port Washington, Harold of
Emlenton, Pa., Col. Willis Johns (ret.) Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Paul of
Newcomerstown; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Farrar and Mrs. Herbert Gates, both of
Newcomerstown, and two grandchildren. Services will be Sunday at 2:30pm at the
Schermesser funeral home in Akron in charge of Rev. J. Emmett Kalawae. Graveside
services will be Monday at 11am at Evergreen Burial park.
