Weaver, 78 of 202 S. 16th St. a retired city fire chief died at 10:40 am Sunday 25 July 1971. Born Nov 26, 1892, in Coshocton, he was the son of William and Mary Jane Callentine Weaver. He was married Aug 13, 1917 to Jennie Wooley, who survives. He was appointed a fireman Sept. 1, 1928 and promoted to captain March 1, 1948, and appointed chief May 15, 1948, by former Mayor William B. Martin, now deceased. Mr. Weaver was a great outdoor man- a fisherman, hunter and camper. He cooked many meals for sportsmen at what was known to them for many years as "Weaver's Camp." Mr. Weaver was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Fire Chiefs Asso. Surviving besides his wife are 3 daughters, Mrs. John (Helen) Bales, 1528 Orange St. Mrs. Fred (Nellie) Roach, 188 Valley View Dr. and Mrs. Robert (Martha) Skusa, Sheffield Lake, Ohio; 3 brothers, Louis, Bernard and Raymond all of Coshocton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Agnes Tiedt, Coshocton and Mrs. Earl (Margaret) Price, Zanesville, 10 grandchildren. A sister Emma and son, Donald are deceased. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
