Coshocton-Carl Stafford Wells, 87, of 19368 State Route 83, Coshocton, died at 
10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 13, 1909, in Coshocton County, he was the son of the late Robert E. 
and Mollie (Stafford) Wells.

On Nov. 23, 1944, he married Lois Carolyn Porteus.  She preceded him in death 
Oct. 14, 1961.

Mr. Wells was a graduate of Coshocton High School and attended the Ohio State 
University.

He was a life long farmer in Coshocton County.

Mr. Wells was a 50-year member of Franklin Grange.

Survivors include four sons, John H. Wells and wife Kendra of Rockville, Md., 
Thomas C. Wells, Joseph R. Wells and wife Faith and Donald L. Wells and wife 
Linda, all of Coshocton and eight grandchildren, Janna, Julie, Robbie, Kelsey, 
Ashley, Randy, Amy and Matthew.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 14, 1997 at the 
Given-Dawson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Hollingsworth officiating.  
Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today and until service tine on Friday at the 
funeral home.
