George Clark Atkinson, 74, of 916 S. Sandusky Ave., died at 2:05 a.m. this morning in Bucyrus Community Hospital of an apparent heart attack. He had entered the hospital around 1:15a.m. Mr. Atkinson was born Oct 27, 1902 in Corning, the son of Samuel and Margaret (Clark) Atkinson. Jan 15, 1972 he married Bernice E. Kilgore who survives. Surviving children are Robert Eugene (SP) Atkinson, Warwick RI.; Sheldon P. Atkinson, Columbus; and Mrs. Ray (Patrica) Tolbert, Mt. Gilead. There are 13 grandchildren and one great grandson. A brother, William Atkinson survives in Columbus, and a sister Mrs.. Margaret Kink resides in Orlando, Fla. A son, Byron Leo Atkinson and 11 brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Atkinson was a retired New York Central Railroad employee and had lived in the Bucyrus area for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Bucyrus Eagles Lodge. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Wise Funeral Home. The Rev. M. P. Paetrnick will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be observed after noon Wednesday at the Funeral home, where the family will receive callers from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services for George Clark Atkinson, 74, of 916 S. Sandusky Ave., were held today in the Wise Funeral Home. The Rev. M. P. Paetrnick officiated and Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Atkinson died Tuesday in the Bucyrus Community Hospital.
