Mrs. John Levi Cook

GALION - Mrs Mary E. Cook, 91, died at 3:15 this morning at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Ora Laughbaum, about five miles west of Galion.

A life-long resident of Whetstone Township in Crawford County, she was born 
ther on Feb. 27, 1862, the daughter of Adam and Rachel Sherer Gibler.

Her husband, John Levi Cook, preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1950.  They were 
married on May 1, 1887.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Galion.

Mrs. Cook is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Ora Laughbaum, Mrs, Harold 
Laughbaum of near Galion, Mrs. Ida Cook (sic - s/b Miss) of near Galion and 
Mrs. Edwin Barger of Galion.  Also surviving are a brother, Isaac E. Gibler of 
Reading, Mich., nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeal servies will be held at 1 p. m. Monday at the Snyder Funeral Home in 
Galion with Rev. Herbert S. Darnes officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview 
Cemetery in Galion.  Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Saturday.

Mary's daughters married two Laughbaum brothers:

Rachael Clara Cook m. Ora Lee Laughbaum on July 30, 1911 in Crawford Co., Ohio

Nettie Jane Cook m. Harold Allen Laughbaum on January 24, 1915 in Galion, 
Crawford Co., Ohio

Harold and Ora were sons of Isaac Alfred Laughbaum and Susanna Shearer.  Isaac 
was 1st cousin to my Great-grandfather, Horatio Thurston Laughbaum.
