C. Caley, dealer in boots and shoes, was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He enlisted in Co. I, 29th O. Vol., served one year, and in the spring of 1863 went to Montana; returned to Ohio in 1864, and two years later came to Missouri Valley, and built the first building in the town, excepting a few R. R. buildings. He is the pioneer boot and shoe dealer of the city.
