LILLIE H. BECKETT "Mrs. Lucille H. Beckett, for 44 years a resident of Lakewood and active in Lakewood Methodist Church, died yesterday in Fairview Park Hospital. "Born in Warrington, England, she came to Lakewood as a girl. She was married in 1904 to Albert Beckett. For many years before he retired in 1949, he had been a salesman for the Strong, Carlisle & Hammond Co., machinery dealers. He died in 1955. "Mrs. Beckett had been a member of the Women's Society for Christian Service of Lakewood Methodist Church for years. She was an early member also of Lincoln Chapter of the Eastern Star. "Since her husband's death she had lived at the Eliza Jennings Home. For many years the family home was at 1273 Andrews Avenue, Lakewood. "Surviving Mrs. Beckett are a son, Albert H. Beckett; a daughter, Mrs. Lillian L. Southard, and four grandchildren [unnamed :(] "Services will be at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow in the Daniels funeral home, 15800 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood. Burial will be in Lakewood Park Cemetery." [NOTE: chatted with Lakewood Park Cemetery officials today; hoping to get out there on weekend, if sunshine allows photos of Lillie's grave, next to - at least - hubby Albert and daughter Gertrude. This cemetery is actually in Rocky River, Ohio...do not confuse it with the East Side Lake View Cemetery - where other Beckett family members are buried. If anyone on list has relatives buried in either West Side Lakewood Park Cemetery and East Side Lake View Cemetery - let me know so I can kill two birds with one headstone...hmmmmm] ==== Maggie_Ohio Mailing List ====
