Reck moreck@juno.com October 4, 1998 *********************************************************************** Obituary Harry (Hal) Henning Sept. 8, 1946 ___________________________________________ Greenville Man Found Dead By Son & Daughter __________ Despondency over failing health is said to have motivated the suicide of Harry (Hal) Henning, 77, who hanged himself early Sunday afternoon in his bedroom in a rooming house at 112 West Fifth St. where he had resided for the past two years. He had been in ill health for several months. At about 2:30 p.m. yesterday, Henning is said to have called a son, Joseph, this city, stating that"he wanted to see him in about a half hour." When the son and a sister, Mrs. Cledis Searl, arrived at the rooming house at 2:50 p.m. they found their father dead. Mrs. Searl who lives in Dayton, had been spending the week-end here. The deceased, a Darke county native, had formerly worked for more than fifthteen years for the Cincinnati Northern Railroad. He was a member of both the Red Men Lodges and of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church. Besides the son and daughter, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Charles Ebbeling of Greenville, and Mrs. George Rue, of Ansonia. The body has been removed to the Miller funeral home where friends may call after one p.m. Tuesday. Services will be held there at two p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Edgar V. Louchs officiating. Burial will be in New Madison. The Red Men's lodge will conduct the services.
