Obituary

Isaac Henning

        Isaac Henning, the son of John Christian Henning 
and wife, was born September 6, 1842 in Washington 
Township, Darke Co. Ohio. Here he also died  March 18, 
1908. In March 1866, he was united in marriage with 
Miss Rosanna Flatter. This union was blessed with two 
children, a daughter and a son. The mother departed this 
life October 21, 1871. The children also preceded their 
father in death. On the 28th. December 1873, the 
deceased was again united in marriage with Mary 
Elizabeth Schaeffer. From this union sprang three 
children, two daughters and a son.
        For some time the deceased had been confined to 
his bed with catarrh of the stomach to which he  
succumbed on the date mentioned above having 
reached the age of 65 years, 5 months, and 12 days. He 
leaves to mourn his death, his wife, three children; two 
daughters and a son, one sister, four grandchildren and 
many friends.
        The family desire to extend through the Advocate 
hearty thanks to their friends and neighbors for their 
assistance during the illness and the funeral of their 
father.



Notes: 
        Isaac Henning was the son of John J. Henning 
and Christena (Stoever/Staver) Henning. Most likely, 
Isaac was born in Darke County, Ohio. His parents first 
settled in Germantown, Montgomery Co. Ohio. His 
parents were born in Pennsylvania.
        Isaac Henning is buried at Dininger Cemetery, 
Darke Co. Ohio.
