Reck moreck@juno.com October 11, 1996 *********************************************************************** OBITUARY Sarah Harriet Miller March 27, 1910 Absalom and Sarah (Henning) Shade were the parents of nine children; five sons and four daughters. Sarah Harriet, the third daughter and the seventh child, was born in Washington Twp., Darke Co. Ohio, January 25, 1853 and died at her home in the same township in which she was born, March 27, 1910, at the age of 57 years, 2 months and 2 days. She was baptized in infancy by Rev. Hirsh of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. On May 23, 1880, she was married to Mr. Charles W. Miller, Rev. C. M. Sharp being the officiating clergyman. To this union was born five children, one girl and four boys. The girl and three of the boys preceded the mother to the spirit world, and one, Charles Ruey Miller, is left without a mother's care. She had been a sufferer for many years, the beginning of her last serious illness which resulted in her death, dated from last July. During this sickness she often expressed a desired to "go home" and her earthly home is saddened by her departure. She leaves a husband and one son, one sister, Mrs. Isabel Crick, of Darke Co., Ohio, three brothers, Charles J., of Lynn, Ind., Reuben I., of Michigan and Valentine A., of Oregon and a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn her departure. Funeral services were held in the United Brethren Church, at Nashville, Ohio, conducted by Rev. H. L.Lott, interment in the Dininger Cemetery. ********************************************************************** Estimable Lady Dead March 27, 1910 Mrs. Sarah Harriet Miller, age 57 yrs., 3 months and two days, died at her home near Nashville Sunday morning, March 27, 1910, at 4 o'clock after a lingering illness. She was a most highly beloved lady and the wife of Charles Miller. The deceased was a member of the U.B. church at Nashville, being a member of the Ladies Aid Society of that church. Funeral services Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment at the Dininger Cemetery.
