UNION CITY TIMES DEATH NOTICES, 1875 - Randolph County, IN 7 January 1875 Died - December 30th, 1874, Isabelle, consort of Christian Nickey, aged 60 years and 7 months. The deceased was the daughter of Ezekial and Mary Cooper, and was born in Augusta County, Virginia, may 30th, 1805. At the age of sixteen she became a member of the M.E. Chruch, and was united in marriage, by Rev. James Munrow, July 15, 1830. With her husband she emigrated to GREEN COUNTY, OHIO, in 1832, and from thence to Randolph County, IN, September 15th 1840, where she lived until the day of her death. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church at Deerfield by Rev. Mr. Merrick, of the M.E. Church at one o'clock, Jan. 1st, 1875, and the reamains deposited in the cemetery nearby. She leaves behind a sticken husband, three sons and four daughters, with may sorrowing friends, to mour her loss. WESLEY METTLER died very suddenly at his residence, near Snow Hill, last Monday night. His remains were conveyed to the cemetery near Hollandsburg, Darke Co., Ohio, yesterday and interred. 4 March 1875 Died - At Union City, March 4th, 1875, TIMOTHY MASSLICH, aged 75 years, 1 month and 26 days. The deceased, son of Gottlieb and Catharine messlich, was born at Litiz, Lancaster County, Penn, January 8th, 1802. The 15th of March, 1829, he was married to Catharine Greene, his now bereaved widow. In the year, 1858 he left his native town and removed first to Montgomery Co., Ohio, and then to this place. The last years of his life he passed among us, honored and beloved by all who knew him. Somewhat over a year ago he was attacked with paralysis, and ever since he was confined to his room and, for the last months, to his bed. Especially toward the end of his life he suffered great pains; and when the hour of his death came, his prayer was fulfilled - to fall asleep and die an easy death. Funeral service was held at the Lutheran Church on Sunday, the 7th inst., at 10 o'clock a.m. Died - On the 19th day of February, 1875, near Collensville, Darke County, Ohio, Mr. WILLIAM CLAY, aged 63 years, 11 months and 2 days. Mr. Clay had never united with any church, yet had sought and obtained the forgiveness of his sins and found the savior prescious, and when the messenger of death came, was ready and passed away in peace. Funeral services at Hollenburg by Eld. H. Cole. 13 May 1875 Died - May 8, 1875, at Union City, Ind., Jane, consort of Levi Hommown. The remains were conveyed to Germantown, Ohio, Monday for interment. The deceased leaves an afflicted husband and six children, the youngest but a few days old, to mourn her loss. 2 September 1875 Aug. 28th, 1875, near Woodington, Darke Co., Ohio, Bertha M., daughter of William and Alice Hufford, aged 4 months and 12 days. Funeral services at the Teegarden Church on the 29th by H. Cole 17 September 1875 Died - at the residence of her son, Dr. Evans, of Jackson Township, Darke County, Oh, on the 14th inst. Sarrah Evans, 86 years, 11 months and 22 days. Mrs. Evans was born in York Co., Pennsylvania Sept. 22nd, 1788, united with the Presbyterian Church in 1807. Removed to Ohio in 1810 and was married to Montgomery Evans on the 30th of March 1814. She became a member of the M.E. Church in 1831 and continued a worthy member of the same until her death. Her husband died in 1847 leaving her a widow the last 28 years of her life. Her death was that of a christian. Funeral services at Rose Hill by H. Cole. Prudence Armstrong, wifef of Wm. C. Hudson, and youngest daughter of Austin W. and Ach___ Knight, was bron in Muskingum County, Ohio, December 24, (?), A.D. 1837, died August 19th A.D., 1876, of paralysis of the pneumogastric nerve, aged 38 years, 7 months and 23 days. She was married October 28th, A.D. 1857, in her parents house in the sweetness of her maiden life. She was the mother of ten living children, and one "untimelt birth" in whom was never breath of life. Death was not a stranger to her home. He came, he went, and his name conveyed the souls of seven children, infants dear. She was an affectionate child who ever devoted herself to her aged parents in every time of need, a dutiful and provident wife who kept her marriage vows, a loving mother whose children were the idols of her heart, a sister kind beyond description, a neighbor by a admired, a friend to the sick and afflicted in every walk of life. William F. Trinkner, proprietor of the Lafayette Baths, died at his home, 311 North Fourth Street, on Tuesday night of pneumonia which followed an attack of influenza. Mr. Trinkner was 27 years of age, having been born in St. Bernice, IN, March 13, 1891. he came to Lafayette four years ago and for two years has conducted the Lafayette Baths. In october 1914, he married Miss Adaline Flenner of Hamilton, Ohio who survives him. The other survivors are his three year old son, Billy, and his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Henry Trinkner of Dana, IN. Ephraim J. Smith died at the Indiana State Soldiers' home Sunday morning of pnuemonia. Mr. Smith had long been a sufferer of rheumatism and had been almost helpless from that disease for about five years. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the Civil War, belonged to Company E, 7th Regiment, Ohio Volunteers, and was in some of the hardest battles of the war. He was 79 years old. Surviving him are a widow and four children: James J. Smith of Fowler; John E. Smith of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Ralph Smith of Baattle Ground; and Dora Lindsay of Battle Ground. Eleven grandchildren also survive. The funeral was held from the Battle Ground Christian Church Tuesday Afternoon. Gina
