I John Millet of the County of Darke and State of Ohio being sick and weak in body but of sound memory and mind considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time there of and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say First and principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix to be herein after named and after and after my debts and funeral charges are paid and my wifes thirds taken out I devise and bequeath as follows I give and bequeath unto my son John of the County of Darke and State aforesaid the sum of sixty dollars. Item 2 - I give and bequeath unto my eldest daughter Hannah the sum of twenty dollars Item 3 - I give and bequeath unto my second daughter Esther the sum of twenty dollars Item 4 - I give and bequeath unto my second son Merrit a tract of land lying in the County and State aforesaid containing seventy four acres and seventy six hundredths taken the said Merrit during his lifetime and after the death of my wife to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten in full property and fee simple.Item 5 and 6 - I give and bequeath unto my two youngest daughters the sum (if it can be accumulated) which my two eldest daughters have received and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my dear wife Mary Millet to be sole executrix of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made ratifying this and none other to be my last will and testament In testimony where of I John Millet have to this my will consisting of one sheet of paper setting my hand and seal at the bottom hereof this Seventh day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one. D. 1833Mary Millet purporting to be the last will and testament of John Millet and John K. Owen and John D. Briney being legally sworn depose and say that the said John Millet signed the said paper and heard him acknowledge it as his last will and testament that they respectively signed the same as subscribing witnesses in the presence and at the request of the said John Millet that he was at the time of executing the aforesaid writing in the opinion and belief of these deponents of sound mind and memory and of lawful age and under no restraint to the Knowledge of these deponents.
