In the name of the benevolent Father of all I, Simon Steinmetz of Darke
County, Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament.
Item (1)  I give and devise to my beloved Wife Mary, in leu of her
dower, the farm on which we now reside.  Containing about seventy two
acres of land and all of my personal property during her natural life or
as long as she remains my widow to use and do with as she may think
best.  Either to sell, lease or rent all or a part thereof and if my
said wife, Mary should re-marry then all of my said estate, real and
personal to be sold and equally divided between all of my children and
at the death of my said wife, my land and all of personal property
undisposed of to be sold and equally divided between all of my children.

Item (2)  I do hereby constitute and appoint Joshua Baker Executor of
this my last will and testament hereby authorizing him to sell by
private sale or otherwise upon such terms of credit or otherwise as he
may think all of my real and such of my personal as may remain
undisposed of and deed to purchasers to execute, acknowledge and deliver
in fee simple and to divide the proceeds thereof equally between all of
my children.
        I do hereby revoke all other wills by me made.  In testimony
whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this the 27th day of
December 1866    Simon Steinmetz
