Cryder Cemeteries Read by the Delaware County Genealogical Society, 1998, Compiler - Editor Jenora McKenzie Stilwell Reading of cemetery for Harlem Township in Spring, 2005 by Phyllis I. Davidson and Barbara L. Morrison Physical Walk-throughs of cemetery in May, 2010 by Joni Manson, Dave Snyder, and Vicki Tieche Hanover Cemetery was probably originally Snipetown Cemetery - the small collection of houses known as Snipetown was just west of this cemetery which is located on the south side of Fancher Road, east of Green Cook Road. The earliest burial in this cemetery was in 1824; the most recent burial was in 1997. Hanover-Snipetown Cemetery is the burial place of one War of 1812 veteran and two Civil War veterans. Over the years portions of this cemetery have been overgrown. It has been vandalized and stones removed (and returned) at least once. Stones were discovered on this reading that had not been found in previous readings, and the 1998 reading by the Genealogical Society included stones not seen by Powell in 1947. This doesn't usually happen, which adds some intrigue to this cemetery. Any stone previously recorded and not found in 2010 is noted as such. Rows were read West to East, Graves were read North to South Row 1 The 1935 map includes a burial here - directly across from the first burial in Row 2 1-1 Margaret, wife of Ben Gorsuch, d.
