Mrs. J. Smale
    Mrs. John Smale died Tuesday night at 11:30 o'clock at her home corner of
Waldo and Oak streets, after suffering ten months of cancer.
    The deceased was 52 years of age, and leaves a husband and three children,
Clara, Clarence and Mrs. Fred Engeroff, besides a large number of friends and
acquaintances to mourn her death.  She was an earnest and devout Christian
woman, being a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of this city.  During
her long sickness, Mrs. Smale was an uncomplaining sufferer and bore her
affliction with never failing cheerfulness.
    The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St.
John's Lutheran church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Shaffer.
    Internment will follow at Oak Grove cemetery.
