She has been ailing for several years, but her condition did not become critical until about two months ago. Her maiden name was Caroline Kneller. She was born near Sugar Grove, Ohio, April 8, 1836. About fifty-two years ago she was united in marriage to William P. Ruff. Immediately following the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Ruff came to Shelby county. For fifty years, Mrs. Ruff lived on the farm where she died. Mr. Ruff died in July, 1914. Mr. and Mrs. Ruff were the parents of six sons, three of whom died in infancy. The surviving sons are J. P. Ruff, Shelbyville, Tobias W. Ruff, Ponca City, Okla., and C. A. Ruff, living near Shelbyville. Mrs. Ruff also leaves two brothers and one sister, John Kneller, Licking county, Ohio, and Mrs. Hannah Kull, Strasburg. For many years Mrs. Ruff had been a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran church from which place the funeral will be held at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon. The service will be conducted by Rev.
