JOHN H. HOLLAR
     JOHN H. HOLLAR, 63, of Washington C.H. died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999 in 
Madison County Hospital in London after a brief illness.  He was born March 
341 1936 in Resaca, Ohio to CHARLES HOLLAR and HELEN (MORGAN) HOLLAR.
     He graduated in 1955 from Madison Mills High School and served in the 
U.S. Army from 1959-1962.  He retired from General Motors in 1994 after 30 
years of service.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, CHARLES "MOTTS" 
HOLLAR; and sisters, FRANCES BRAITHWAITE and CHARLOTTE JACOBS.
     He is survived by his wife of 42 years, DELORES KAYE (MCGOWAN) HOLLAR; 
daughters and sons-in-law, PAM and MARTIN MERRITT of Mt. Sterling; LORI and 
RUSS MILLER of Hilliard; three grandchildren, SARAH MERRITT, JOHN ROBERT and 
CHAD MILLER; brothers, HARVEY HOLLAR of McDonough, Ga.; JAMES HOLLAR of Mt. 
Sterling; sisters, ARIETTA (JIM) TIMMONS of Mt. Sterling; MARY (JACK) BRILL of 
Mt. Sterling; CORA (BILL) MATTHEWS of Springfield;  MARTHA (FRANK) FOLLROD of 
Mt. Sterling; sisters-in-law, FREDA (DICK) MCPHERSON of Circleville; ELOISE 
(JACK) PHILLIPS of Sarasota, Fla., and several nieces, nephews and friends.
     A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999 
at the Porter Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with the Rev. Ronald Reynolds and 
the Rev. Dortha Ross officiating.
     Interment will follow in Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Sterling.
     Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
