RHOADES. Robert Lester Rhoades, 77, of 5516 Danville Road, Bloomingburg, died 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 1988 at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born August 5, 1911 in Fayette County, he was the son of Elton and Rosa Downard Rhoades. He was a retired mail manager at Holly Farms in Bloomingburg and was a retired farmer. He was also a member of FOE 423 in Washington C.H. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary McCoy: four daughters, Mrs. Bill (Audrey) Miller of Bloomingburg, Patricia Rhoades of Chicago, Mrs. Larry (Jo) Cokonougher of Greenfield, and Mrs. Ted (Kay) Baker of Bloomingburg; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one half- sister, Marcella Huston of Ashville and one half-brother, James Rhoades of Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two half-brothers. Service wil be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Gerstner-Kinzer Funeral Home in Washington C.H. with the Rev. Kenneth Kaibel officiating. Burial will be in the Washington C.H. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
