The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ *********************************************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Pat Johnson busterb@info2000.net March 8, 2000 *********************************************************************** Gouldin to Evans 25 Sep 1857 Franklin County Ohio Deed Book 68 Page 26 FHL Film # 0285100 John Gouldin to Daniel Evans Know all men by these presents, that John Gouldin and Lucilla his wife of Franklin County Ohio in consideration of Eight hundred dollars dollars, (sic) paid by Daniel Evans of sd County and State have, and do hereby bargain, sell and convey unto said Daniel Evans and unto his heirs and assigns, forever, the following premises, in Franklin County, Ohio, to wit: and in the Township of Norwich, Bounded and described as follows, viz, Beginning in the East line of the Blackburne tract at a white ash tree, thence N 80 E. 42.31 poles to a Burr oak, thence N. 10 W. 53.44 p. to a hickory, thence S. 80 W. 92.31 p. to a stone and two small ashes, thence S. 10 E. 53.44 p. to the place of beginning, containing thirty acres, more or less, being part of the Gilliam Survey No. Three thousand and thirteen (3013) patented to said Gilliam by John Adams President of the United States in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety eight. To have and to hold said premises, with their! appurtenances, unto said Daniel Evans and his heirs and assigns forever. And said John Gouldin and Lucilla his wife for themselves heirs etc. doth hereby covenant with said Daniel Evans and his heirs and assigns, that the said premises are free and clear of all encumbrances whatsoever, that they have good right and lawful authority to sell and convey the premises as aforesaid, and will forever arrant and defend the same, with appurtenances, unto the said Daniel Evans and his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the said John Gouldin and Lucilla his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals this Twenty fifth day of September Anno Domini, eighteen hundred and fifty seven. Avery] Lucilla Gouldin The State of Ohio, Franklin County Before me, a Justice of the Peace within and for said County, personally appeared the above named John Gouldin and Lucilla Gouldin and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the above conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed, and the said Lucilla Gouldin being at the same examined separate and apart form her said husband, and the contents of said conveyance made known to her by me, she then declared that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same, and that she still satisfied therewith, this Twenty fifth day of September A.D. 1857.
