BRAZEE, near Lancaster Henry STANBERRY, now in KY, Judge WHITMAN and Wm SLADE livining away from Lancaster, but both came after 1839 In August 1876, five dry goods stores could be found... all on the north side of Main Street, and between Broad and Columbus streets, as follows: REEBER and ULRICH, Charles KUTZ, BEEK Brothers, WREN Brothers, and Philip RISING. four clotheing stores: PETERS and TROUT; RISING, DSIPLE & MILLER; Jacob HITE, and Moses LEVIE. Seven Drug stores, owned by George BECK & Son; Al DAVIDSON, Beecher WHITE, Daniel SIFFORD, RICHEY & GIESY; Mr. WETZEL, and CRIDER Brothers. Five shoe & boot-stores: Robert REED, James WORK & Brother, MYERS & GETZ, RICHARDS & WEBB, and SHOWERS Brothrs. Two hardward stores: Wm. McCRACKEN, and HANSON & Compay. Three Tin and srove est.s;\: James McMANAMY, STURGEON Brothers, and ____ Three banks: First National Bank, Hocking Valley National Bank, and Fairfield County Bank. One wholesale gracery and some dz or more retail family groceries and provision stores. Five bakeries, as follows: A BAUMAN, SLEEKMAN & HUFFMAN, KLINGE, BLAND & SLIKER. Five Dentists: H. SCOTT, H L CREIDER, Doctor VON BONHORST, Dr. PALMETER, and J C SCOTT. Two furniture dealers: STROBLE & BLEDSICKER; and WILLIAMS & WILEY Three jewelers: L BUTCH, SIEBER & Co; and Frank BLAIR.
