He was assigned to Company C, of the 3rd Regiment of Infantry. David Radford Martin was promoted to Corporal on July 19, 1914, and was honorable discharged, on March 6, 1915. David Radford Martin was processed initially at Middlesboro, Bell County, Kentucky. David Radford Martin was the son John Dalton Martin & Lucy Frances Johnson. David Radford Martin married Nannette Serena Walters on December 15, 1915, at David's parent's home in Gray, Knox County, Kentucky. They were the parents of Vernon Eugene Martin & Theodore Roosevelt Martin. David Radford Martin perished on October 22, 1918 during the 1918 Influenza pandemic at Corbin, Kentucky. He had been working for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad at the time of death, and was buried on his parents farm.
