Dr. Jean M. Putnam, age 81, 3860 N. High St., Riverside Hospital. Wednesday. 
Founder and past president, Zonta International of Columbus. 1918 graduate of 
OSU College of Dentistry, practicing over 50 years in Columbus. Direct 
descendant of Rufus Putnam, who founded the Northwest Territory and settled 
Marietta. Survived by 3 sisters, Dorothy Miller, New York City; Gail Mason, 
East Orange, N.J., and Harriett Putnam, Denver; nephew, Stephen Wells, Staten 
Island, N.Y.; niece, Sally, Connecticut; cousin, Dave Putnam, Columbus. Friends 
may call at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 255 E. State St., after 7 p.m. 
Saturday, where funeral service will be held Monday 1 p.m. Rev. William E. 
Ashbrook officiating. Interment, Green Lawn Cemetery. Athens papers please copy.
