Toll J.C. Toll, whose death is announced in another column, has been a resident of Columbus for many years. He was one of the oldest, if not the oldest landlord in the city. He engaged in the hotel business in the Town Street House in 1858 and retired from active business three years ago, having been a resident of Columbus since 1856. He represented the old Third ward in the City Council one term.
