All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Melanie Hollett melanieh1@verizon.net October 21, 2007, 5:16 pm Source: Wills, Franklin County Ohio Volume A-103 Written: August 7, 1822 Recorded: August 15, 1822 In the name of God amen, I William Badger of Franklin County, Jackson Township & state of Ohio, being sick and weak in the body but of sound and disposing mind & (unreadable)considering the certainy of death & (unreadable)being decision to settle my wordly affairs & thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form, following, that is say,first I commit my soul into the Almighty hands of God and my body to the earth to lie decently buried at the discretion of my executors herein after named & after my debts and funeral charges are paid. First I do leave and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife, Martha Badger (unreadable) one sheet one bed one blanket two coverlets one umbrella and all her wearing apparel and a quantity of linen and woolen yarn now in the house, one (unreadable) one single washing (unreadable) one half dozen silver tea spoons one set of cups and saucers one white cow and calf half a dozen knives and forks one falling leaf table and tablecloth one stweing kettle and one coffee pot and her saddle and fifteen dollars a year. I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Martha to be paid yearly and every year out of any estate so long as she remain a widow delivered to her out of the produce of the place. My freehold estate I wish to be sold after my decease and to be equally divided amongst my children accept my son (unreadable) Badger I do leave and bequeath unto him thrity dollars and I do leave and bqueath unto my daughter Ann Badger wife of Jospeh Badger Taylor of Franklinton fifty dollars each to be levied out of my estate and likewise except my son Jospeh Badger by reason of an account that I am informed he holds against me and if he presents the account after my decease I deny owing him any of the said account after my deceaseand it is to be deducted out of his part of the legacy and unto my son Sterrat Badger I do leave and bequeath my Hannah mare and the sorrel colt and my watch besides his equal share of the freehold estate and personal property after it is sold. The mare and colt is to be kept in the property of my son Archibald J. Badger until (unreadable) Sterrat Badger arrives to the age of twenty one years and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my dearyl beloved sons Wm. Badger JR and Archibald J Badger to be my executors of this my last will and testament revoking and anulling all former wills by me heretofore made satisfying and confirming then and none other to be my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at the bottom of this seventh day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty two.
