He was the last of a family of seven children. Most of his life was spent in Fulton county, except for a few years in Michigan, He was a man of extraordinary ability in many ways. He was a charter member of the Mt. Pleasant church of the United Brethren in Christ, where in his younger life he was a very efficient leader. He departed this earthly life from the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. E. Carter, four miles south of Delta. He had reached the ripe old age of 86 years, 11 months and 29 days. The people of the community will long remember his cheerful disposition and kindly helpfulness. He was preceded to the spirit world by his son Harold who fell in the defense of his country in the first World War. There are left to cherish his memory, four daughters, Mrs. L. E. Carter and Mrs. R. D. Mizer of Delta, and Mrs. A. D. Currier of Carlos, Ind., and Mrs. J. H. Guthrie of Holland, Ohio. The deceased is also survived by nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a number of nephews and nieces, and a large circle of friends. (Newspaper clipping, No date, Delta Atlas?
