Wickham was born at Finlay, Hancock county, Ohio, Nov. 20, 1844, and departed this life very suddenly on the main street of Beaverton August 9, 1923, aged 78 years, 8 months and 20 days. He had the distinction of enlisting in the Union army at the beginning of the Civil war and served to its close. Was captured at different places and periods of the struggle and spent 15 months and 10 days in rebel prisons. He was united in marriage to Mary M. Stocking Jan. 24, 1865. To this union two daughters and one son were born, both daughters having passed beyond. The wife departed this life Feb. 10, 1917. He was united in marriage April 9, 1921, to Mrs. Martha Sailor, who with one son, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends are left to mourn. The funeral services were held Friday in the Beaverton Federated church, Rev. A. J. Preston officiating.
