A site cannot be reserved as arrangements are made at the time of a death. An adjacent site is then reserved for a spouse. There is a charge for opening and closing a grave. Newbury Center, (14911 Auburn Rd.) Active Location: near the southeast corner of the intersection of Auburn Road and Route. #87. There are three sections. Space is quite limited. Morton at (10598 Bell Rd.) Active (only descendants of the Morton Family) Location: the north side of Bell Rd. between Auburn and Munn Roads. The entrance is not marked and is just east of the large farmhouse. The cemetery cannot be seen from the road. Munn, (10189 Music St.) Active Location: on the south side of Music St. just past Munn Rd. The old section has an unusual method of numbering, using letters for rows. Very few burials are made in that section. The new section is plotted out for four graves per lot. South Newbury, (15550 Ravenna Rd. or Rt. 44). Active (space is limited) Location: on the west side of Rt. 44, just past the three-way intersection of Music St. and Rt. 44. Sections and lots have not been identified for those marked "Unknown". Codes for Military Service (Vet.) Number codes were assigned for the various wars as follows: 01 Revolutionary War: 1776-1783 10 War of 1812: 1812-1815 16 Mexican War: 1846-1848 19 Civil War: 1861-1865 25 War with Spain: 1898 31 World War I: 6 Apr 1917-11 Nov 1918 41 World War II: 7 Dec 1941-31 Dec 1945 50 Korean War: 25 Jun 1950-31 Jan 1955 61 Vietnam: 22 Dec 1961-7 May 1975 89 Panama Action: 20 Dec 1989-31 Jan 1990 90 Persian Gulf: 1990-1991 NO None or Unknown PT Military Service not in the time of War Numbers 1 through 31 were assigned by an Official Government Project of the 1930s when cemeteries were surveyed and mapped to locate veterans. Information in parentheses came from other sources; i.e., cr & sr = Clerk’s/Sexton’s Record; c = cremains; (Map), the name appears on the map as owned or reserved. An entry such as: SMITH John ( ) means that there is no stone; at least there wasn’t when the record was compiled. *********************************************************************** ===================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================== SURNAME FIRST NAME CEMETERY SECTION ROW LOT GRAVE DATE OF BIRTH DATE OF DEATH AGE VETERAN SERVICE ORGANIZATION NEE RELATION RELATED TO PLACE OF BIRTH STATE PLACE OF DEATH STATE LOT OWNER CLUB-LODGE NOTES ===================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================================== SHAW Georgianna NE South Newbury 3 48 0 30 Oct 1861 14m 2d NO d/o George & Dorcas SHAW Lucas NE South Newbury 3 49 0 17 Oct 1782 3 Mar 1861 NO h/o Mehitable Plymouth MA SHAW Maria M.
