George Reeves (Reaves), oldest son of Asher and Diana (Miller) Reeves, was born 
in Virginia in 1796 and resided with his parents until 1817.  He married 
Margaret (Mary on tombstone) Lee of Greene County, Ohio.  He was an ordained 
minister of the Old School Baptist Church in 1833.  He was a pioneer preacher 
throughout Southern Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.  He was continually on the go, 
riding on horseback.  He preached a funeral sermon July 1854 where he 
contracted Asiatic Cholera and died three days later July 1854.  He was a 
Justice of the Peace and a major in the Ohio Militia.  He is buried at Stewart 
Cemetery in Bowersville, Greene County, Ohio.  He was the minister of the 
Caesar's Creek Baptist Church in Greene County.
