(now Kemp Rd.), on the farm formerly owned by Jaconb Aley, being near the central part of Sec. 10 (2.7). Jacob Alley donated the land on which this Church was built, and hence it is familiary known as "Aley's Church". The first building was a plain frame house, about 25X30 feet, and was built in 1838, by the German reformed, the United Brethren and the Lutherans uniting together, Among the original members were Jacob, John, and Abram Aley, David Costler and Jacob Fox. The United Brethern Church was part of the U.B. Miami confrence in 1813, later became part of Twin Creek circuit. Benjamin Wheat was assistant pastor in 1843. Five years later in 1848, Jacob Aley assigned the land officially to the trustees. A new Church was built in 1848/49 but was destroyed by lighting in 1918. After the 1853, the United Brethern was the only denomination to use the Church. In 1918 the present Church was built, and in 1951 an addition was made. Finally in 1959, the newest building was dedicated and is locatedjust east of the older Church building. The Cemetery comprises .98 acres of land. It says it was compiled by the Greene County Chapter of The Ohio Genealogy Society. It showed no register, trade marks or copy write. My Parents, Grandparents, G Grandparents and GG Grandparents are buried in Aley. I think it would be a good thing to have on the Greene County Page.
