All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Darrell Manrique findegil@gmail.com April 10, 2011, 2:18 am Written: June 8, 1811 Recorded: April 20, 1821 This Indenture made this eighth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousnd eight hundred and eleven between Alexander Barnes and Sarah his wife, and James Barnes and Catherine his wife of the County of Greene and State of Ohio of the one part and Samuel Steel of the county and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth:- that that the said Alexander Barnes and Sarah his wife and James Barnes and Catherine his wife, for and in consideration of one hundred and seventy four Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowldged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and con- firm unto the said Samuel Steele hi heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the County of Greene on the waters of the Little Miami containing twenty nine and being part of a Military survey entered in the name of Churchill Jones No. 417 and bounded as follows, to-wit:- Beginning at a plumb tree and horn beam on the north west bank of Glady creek corner to Daniel Cane; thence with the general course of said creek North sixty seven degrees east twenty eight poles to a stake; thence North twenty degree east eighty poles to a stake in the line of said survey thence with said line South thirty nine and a half degrees east forty five and five tenths poles to a stake corner to Daniel Cain; thence South twenty degree west one hundred and eleven poles to a stake corner also to Daniel Cane thence North thirty nine and a half degrees west sixty nine and five tenths poles to the beginning. Together with all and singular the premises thereunto belonging; or in any wise appertaining; To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said Samuel Steele his heirs and assigns forever And the said Alexander Barnes and Sarah his wife, and James Barnes and Catherine his wife, for themselves, their heirs, executors and administators, the aforesaid tract of land and premises unto the said James Steele hi heirs or assigns, against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness Whereof, the said Alexander Barnes and Sarah hi wife, and James Barnes and Catherine his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date above written. acknowledged in the presence of- Wiliam Gordon Alexander Barnes (seal) Jackson Allen Sarah Barnes (seal) James Barnes (seal) Catharine Barnes (seal) State of Ohio, Greene County,ss I, Samuel Kyle one of the associate judges of the County of Common Pleas of the County aforesaid do certify that the within Indenture was this day acknowledged before me by Alexander Barnes, and Sarah hi wife, and James Barnes and Catherine his wife, to be their act and deed for the purposes therein expressed and the said Sarah and Catherine being by me examined seperate nd apart from their respective husbands, did voluntarily and of their own free will and accord and as their act and deed deliver the within deed of conveyance without any coertion or compulsion of their respective husbands.
