All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Darrell Manrique findegil@gmail.com April 10, 2011, 2:08 am Written: March 22, 1821 Recorded: April 21, 1821 This Indenture made this twenty second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one between Samuel Steele and Sarah his wife, of the County of Greene and State of Ohio of the one part and William Stanfield of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth;- that the said Samuel Steele and Sarah his wife, for and inconsideration of twenty five hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said William Stanfield his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the County of Greene on the waters of the Little Miami containing twenty nine acres being part of a Military survey entered in the name of Churchill Jones No. 417 and bounded as follows, to-wit:- Beginning at a plumb tree and horn beam on the North west bank of Glady Creek corner to David Cain thence with the genral course of said creek North sixty seven degrees east twenty eight poles to a stake; thence North twenty degrees east eighty poles to a stake in the line of said survey; thence with said line South thirty nine and a half degrees east forty five and five tenth poles to a stake corner to Daniel Cain thence South twenty degrees west one hundred and eleven poles to a stake corner also to Daniel Cain; thence North thirty nine and a half degrees west sixty nine and five tenths poles to the beginning. Together with all and singular the premises thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining; To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurt- enances unto the said William Stanfield his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Samuel Steele and Sarah His wife; for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of land and premises unto the said William Stanfield his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness Whereof; the said Samuel Steele and Sarah his wife, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. McBride a Justice of the Peace in and for said county do certify that before me personally came Samuel Steele & acknowledged the signing the within Indenture for the purposes therein specified and Sarah Steele hi wife, being by me examined separate and apart from her husband did acknowledge the signing of the said Indenture without any compulsion from her said husband as her free act and deed.
