Personally appeared before George Fenman (?), J.P., Lutetia McLaughlin makes solemn oath that she is the grandmother of Lewis Collins, now in the House of Refuge in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, & that the bearer of this affidavit, Samuel S. Collins, is the father of said Lewis Collins and that he is willing and able to maintain the child. George Fenman (?) and C.A. Watson, P.M., the latter of Spring Vally, Ohio, certified the truth of the deposition. Note to Mr. Ringwalt (the Superintendent of the House of Refuge, Morganza, Pa.) signed by Joseph Drexler: The bearer of this, Samuel Collins, is the father of Lewis Collins, an inmate, & he wished to make application for his son, to take him with him to Ohio, where he now resides at. The boy has been in the House nearly two years and is Class of honor. Nov. 19, 1868.
