Irwin Called From Earth She Died Very Suddenly at Her Home in This city From a Stroke of Apoplexy. It was a severe shock to the many friends of Mrs. Mary N. Irwin, of Home Ave., when the news became known Wednesday that she had suddenly been called away from earth. She died on Tuesday night about 11 o'clock. Mrs. Irwin had been ailing for a month past, having been a sufferer from Bright's disease. Two weeks ago she became confined to her bed and her daughter, Mrs. Nichols of Columbus, came to Xenia to assist in caring for her and she was with her when she died. Mrs. Nichols slept in the same room with her and was awakened about eleven o'clock and discovered her mother in a dying condition. She passed away before medical aid could arrive. Death is announced to have been due to a stroke of appoplexy. Mrs. Irwin was born in Harrisburg, Pa., on March 8th, 1841, and was thus 63 years of age. She was the widow of James Irwin, who died a great many years ago and she had been a resident of Xenia for the past fourteen years coming here from Athens, O. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Lafayette Nichols, of Columbus; Mrs. Richard Roach and Mrs. John Cline, both of Xenia. The blow falls with crushing weight upon her grandson, Walter Davis, who made his home with Mrs. Irwin after the death of his parents and between whom there was the same bon of affection as between a mother and her son. Mrs. Irwin was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a good Christian woman. The funeral services will be held at the residence on Home Ave., at 2:30 o'clock on Thursday afternoon, conducted by rev. Montgomery. The burial will be a Woodland cemetery.
