This Indenture made this twenty fourth day of January in the year of Lord one 
thousand eight hundred & Sixteen Between Robert Wilkin and Mary his wife of the 
town of Londonderry County of Guernsey and State of Ohio of the one part and 
Leban Perdue of the county and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth 
that the above named Robert Wilkin and Mary his wife for and in consideration 
of the sum of ten dollars & fifty cents to them in hand paid by obligations the 
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and 
hereby these presents grant bargain sell and convey of and confirm unto the 
above named Leban Perdue his heirs and assigns one Lot of Ground three rods 
wide and twelve rods long as may appear in the plate of the town afore 
mentioned and recorded by the recorder of the aforesaid County of Guernsey No. 
twenty together with all the appertanances thereunto belonging or in any way 
pertaining. To have and to hold the above discribed Lot of land and premises to 
him the said Leban Perdue his heirs and assigns forever and him the said Robert 
Wilkin and Mary his wife doth promise grant to and with the said Leban Perdue 
his heirs and assigns that he the said Robert Wilkin and Mary his wife his 
heirs executor. Administrator shall and forever warrant and defend the above 
granted and sold premises unto the said Leban Perdue his heirs and assigns 
against all persons and claims whatever. In Testamony whereof we have set our 
hands and seals the day and date above mentioned.

Personally came before me the Subscriber one of the Justice of the peace in and 
for said County Robert Wilkin and Mary his wife and acknowledged the above to 
be their act and deeds he being personally examined by me separate and apart 
from her husband acknowledged to have relinquished and signed all her rights 
and claims on demand of her dower in the above described Lot of land and 
premises without any compulsion from her said Husband Given under my hand the 
day and date above mentioned.
